The Chevy fuel system consists of gas lines, fuel pump, the gas tank, fuel filter, fuel injectors or carburators and the combustion chamber.Chevys run on gasoline, ethanol gas blend, diesel fuel or biodiesel blends.
The fuel system stores and provides fuel to the cylinders where it is vaporized, mixed with air and burned to produce combustion.
Whenever you press back on your Chevy’s gas pedal, you control the amount of air and fuel the engine takes in. The valve while the computer controls amount of fuel, air to let in is told by the pedal.
The fuel is sucked into the engine cylinders, ingnited from the spark plug, making a clean burn which powers the Chevy.
Maintaining the fuel in the vehicle clean is very important.
